Welcome to Paperback Trading Post

Friends of Gerry Maciuba

Our South Buffalo neighbor and friend, Gerry Maciuba, proprietor of the PAPERBACK TRADING POST for the last 36 years, is currently in Mercy Hospital on a ventilator and needs some IMMEDIATE help.

Gerry needs a natural gas generator installed at the PAPERBACK TRADING POST in order to come home from the hospital and run his business.  He needs help to breathe now due to years of fighting Muscular Dystrophy. With this ventilator he can still operate his beloved business daily. Gerry has lost the use of his hands and legs. He runs his business from his wheelchair. Now he needs help breathing but he still can smile and be his charming self.

Gerry needs approximately $8,500.00 to run a gas line into his business and to buy this generator. He needs to have an automatic startup generator due to his condition. This is impossible for one person to afford but very doable for a caring community. In fact, we could do this easily together.

Let's do the math: 425 neighbors @ $20.00 each = $8,500.00. We are asking you to be one of those 425 neighbors. We  have set up some ways that you may give $20.00. You can mail a check or personally deliver your cash contribution to the PAPERBACK TRADING POST at 2292 Seneca Street (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat) or you can hand deliver your contribution to M&T Bank at Seneca and Cazenovia branch (walk-ins only-no mailings). Please make all checks payable to: FRIENDS OF GERRY MACIUBA. We believe it when we say South Bufffalo takes care of their own. Gerry is one of us. The MD TELETHON for years has asked us to take care of Jerry's kids. Now let's just take care of GERRY.
